3 Simple Ideas To Recycle Your Skincare Products

We know the importance of recycling our various food containers and bottles to help reduce our carbon footprint and do our part towards protecting our precious planet.

But what about your skin care bottles?

Skin care bottles can absolutely be recycled, provided you follow a few standard tips and tricks that are usually relevant to most regions.

Sustainable, recyclable packaging is extremely important to us, here at Mukama Botanica, so we thought we’d share a few tips to help you recycle our products the right way!

Keep them clean

Most of us tend to toss our recyclable products straight into the recycle bin without giving it another thought, but did you know that if your bottle still has any traces of product in it, it can no longer be recycled?

Don’t be too hard on yourself if you’re only learning this now, but take this advice to heart and always give your containers a good rinse before you recycle them.

Always remove the label

Okay, so if you’re purchasing our products, this is one tip you can skip right over!

Labels on bottles should always be removed before recycling, but fortunately our products are all label-free, meaning you just have to give them a quick rinse and you’re good to go!

Keep this tip in mind next time you recycle your marinara sauce jar or another food product that contains a label.

Keep the lids in place

Any small lids or screw tops cannot be recycled on their own because they are too small to go through the recycling process so always be sure to keep the lids firmly screwed on.

Of course, some packaging includes droppers or other parts that cannot be recycled, but we’re happy to let you know that our droppers are 100% glass so you can leave them on and recycle the whole thing with no issues.

Return your empties?

Many brands encourage you to return your empty containers to ensure proper recycling and while we don’t offer this service currently, it’s something we are seriously looking into!

This is where you come in…

We would love to get your feedback! Is a bottle send-back something you would be interested in?

As you can see, recycling your skin care bottles doesn’t have to be a complicated process. As long as you follow the above tips, it will be a breeze!
